EASTBOURNE 2ND XV - 25 V 25 – HEATHFIELD 2ND XV

With three players pulling out of the team early on Saturday morning and then Matthew Mottram pulling out with injury in the warm up and now players out of position it looked a tall order for Neil Pysden and his team.

The first ten minutes showed that Eastbourne were not just here to make up the numbers with some strong play by the forwards and keen running by the backs Eastbourne went into the break with a deserved 10-3 lead.

Heathfield came out a different team in the second half and went ahead with two early scores. Eastbourne fought back with a great hardworking performance from the pack and explosive running from the backs. Heathfield finished the better team as a depleted Eastbourne side hung on for a very hard well earned draw!

Martin King and Taff wre the pick of the backs but joint MOM has to come from the forwards. Aiden Delaney for his 110% never say die attitude as a back playing second row and also Adam Cottingham for his great all round performance.
