This week, Thursday 1st April, Club President Kerry Cook welcomed England International Joe Marler back to ERFC to talk about his start to Rugby at our club as part of a documentary to be broadcast on Sky sometime this year.

Joe met up his former coach and mentor Will Stadler, who coached the young Marler from aged 10 to 16 years of age.

Joe was also discussing his views on mental health issues and his experience as a player.

Hopefully the visit brought back many happy memories for Joe, as he toured the clubhouse drinking in the childhood memories.

A tribute to Will Stadler, one of the many unsung hero coaches who give up their time and experience to help bring the game to the new generations.
