Saturday 11th July at Eastbourne RFC in Hampden Park was a perfect sunny setting for our outdoor fiesta. There were stalls and activities to suit all ages. Starting at 10am and going on till late afternoon, it was a great day out for all the family.

Refreshing drinks were being served over the bar, of course, and burgers were on sale. There was face-painting, Soak the Coach, a tombola, Ball in the Bucket, an obstacle race and skills competitions throughout the day. In addition, games of rounders games and of course, the Bake Off! There were also members of the Club at hand to provide information about Girls rugby, a growing part of our community.

Plenty to do and enjoy and catch up with old friends and members of The Club.

Early on a presentation by County President Bruce Hayter (ex-Eastbourne President) to Grace for her great contribution to the Club. Well done, Grace.

And Bourney Bear was everywhere!

It was good to see members of the Board: Chubbs, James and Sarra and Bruce Hawes, Sarra getting involved with the Bake-Off presentations.

Thanks to Grace, Tinks and all the team for their hard work, thanks to Martine and her staff behind the bar (where would we be without The Crosse Bar?). Rob was also on hand to take the photos and our new President, Norman Green also present to keep an eye on things.

It was good to see everyone there and we look forward to another sunny Saturday next year for Big Bash 2027!

And we look forward to the coming season 2026-2027 for all Minis, Juniors, Men, Women and Vets, mums, dads, grandparents, brothers, sisters and all our other regular supporters.
